2026 State Test Score Results Data Series
The 2026 State Test Score Results Data Series is published by the Education Data Center and is designed to provide updates on 2026 state assessment data.
Our goal is to provide high-level insights on ELA and math state summative assessment outcomes for students in grades 3-8. We will publish overviews as State Education Agencies (SEAs) publicly release assessment results and/or as we receive aggregate results via public records requests.
For additional information about each state assessment, please see the end of this post. All available 2026 assessment data used for this data series will be published by the EDC in December.

Trends Over Time
Yesterday (July 6), Louisiana released the 2026 LEAP results for students in grades 3-8. Louisiana has administered LEAP on a consistent scale for many years, allowing proficiency to be compared over time. Results are reported across five achievement levels - Unsatisfactory, Approaching Basic, Basic, Mastery, and Advanced - with students scoring Mastery or above (Mastery+) considered proficient.
In Louisiana, 2026 proficiency rates for students taking the grade 3-8 LEAP assessment show continued gains in math and flat performance in ELA compared to 2025.
ELA: Approximately 43% of students in grades 3-8 reached proficiency (Mastery or above) on the LEAP assessment in 2026, unchanged from 2025 and holding at 43% for a third consecutive year. Grade 6 led growth between 2025 and 2026, rising from ~40% to 43% Mastery+, while Grades 3 and 8 dipped 1 percentage point.
Math: Approximately 34% of students reached proficiency on the grade 3-8 assessments in 2026, up from 33% in 2025 and continuing to climb since 2021. All grades either remained unchanged (Grades 3, 5), or demonstrated growth this year compared to 2025.

It will take 292 house and 67 senate votes to obtain a supermajority vote. THIS HAS TO BE OUR GOAL. The House and Senate will be able to impeach Trump and his administration for their crimes and corruption with a DEMOCRATIC supermajority.
The Democrats are the only ones that will stand against Trump. We have to vote out as many republicans as possible. The republicans have already proven they will stand with Trump no matter what.
EVERYONE IS GOING TO HAVE TO VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS IN THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS TO MAKE THIS WORK
Make sure you share this with everyone you know without social media. People without social media are unaware how corrupt and detrimental Trump’s administration really is for our country. The media outlets do not post anything negative about Trump. Some people don’t even know what the midterm elections are or how important they are.
TRUMP, HIS ADMINISTRATION, and MUSK ARE CORRUPTING THE GOVERNMENT.
We have to stop them from destroying the country just to line their pockets and cover up their crimes. THEY ARE MAKING EVERYTHING SO EXPENSIVE ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO SURVIVE.

Write letters to every government agency possible informing them you were paid to vote for republicans in the midterms. They will be forced to pay you far more money just to stop reporting it.
